Spring Afternoon

Mar 29thI planted these snapdragons, pansies, ornamental kale and cabbages last autumn. They have survived the dark days of winter and are full of life and light this golden afternoon. The song is Srimad Bhagavatam, by Patrick Bernard. -
Not Quite Spring

Some flowers that helped me through the winter months; hellebores, violas, rosemary, dusty miller and some kale. The little jam pot is Torquay pottery made from the red clay found along the Devon coast of England. There’s a lot to be sad about these days. This beautiful song by Moby, This Was Never Meant For Us is cathartic for me. -
First Flowers of 2026

I love the colours of this little Czech creamer. I filled it with some hellebores and pansies from the garden. It made such a lovely arrangement that it was worthy of two video tributes. One a bit sad, with photos taken at night in the bedroom with the song “Ne Me Quitte Pas” by Nina Simone. The second more happy, photos taken in the sunny kitchen, with the song “Feuille d’Automne” by Indila.

Last flowers of 2025

These are the last few flowers from my garden this year. I put them in my favourite crackly glazed jug. The music is Mad World, by Tears for Fears, piano version by Dennis Korn. -
Indian Summer

Nov 9thTaking advantage of this warm, late fall day. A freeze is on the way. The music is O Paalanhaare from the Lagaan soundtrack. There are some beautiful colours in the dying leaves.

Jul 25thMy summer garden is at its peak, and it needs a lot of watering. The music here is Los Jardines De Marzo by La Bien Querida.

Apparently this is how you propagate papyrus plants. Cut the leaves short and sit the stalks upside down in water until the roots grow.
